Today is Tuesday, January 28th
The topic or question today is:
Have you ever practiced “Enoughness”?
Several years ago I went on a retreat and I will never forget Sister Dawn. Sister Dawn spoke on the subject of “enoughness”. What is enough and what does it mean to you? Do you have enough shoes, enough clothes, and enough stuff? When you eat at a restaurant these days, is it enough? How many gizmos and gadgets do you need, do you have enough?
When I was young, my sisters and I would get excited, loud and goofy. My Dad would raise his voice slightly and say ENOUGH! We knew it was time to stop fooling around. Enough is a great word with synonyms such as sufficient, ample, and plenty. Next time you fill your plate, bowl or glass, ask yourself, “Is this enough?”
When you eat, stop and ask yourself, “Is this enough?” If you keep this word on your lips often, it can change the way you look at many things in life.
Tip or Quote of the Day:
“Enough is as good as a feast”
Take Action today:
- Practice Enoughness.
- Stop taking second helpings, one is enough.
