Food and Friends

Today is June 20

What I have learned from Frieda

Frieda enjoys life and food of all kinds, eats slow and enjoys whatever she is served.

Lesson: Be appreciative, enjoy food by eating slow and savoring.

As a child, Frieda lived in Germany during WW II and was introduced to us through James. Frieda showed up at our house with 15 strangers to her on Thanksgiving Day two years ago and was given a headband to wear that said “Brave Momma Bear”. Frieda has taught me to be brave throughout life. Listening to her war stories and all the trials she faced in Germany helps me to be ready to face the hard things of life. She appreciates food, eats slowly and savors each bite.

Tip or quote of the day:

“Did you ever stop to taste a carrot?  Not just eat it, but taste it.  You can’t taste the beauty and energy of the earth in a Twinkie”

– Astrid Alauda

Take Action Today:

*  Eat slow and savor each bite

*  Be ready when the tough times come

*  Step outside your comfort zone every now and then
